As a member of Reimagine Elmwood, the Elmwood Business Coalition is excited to announce the grand opening of the Chalmers Community Corner at 243 Henderson.

For two decades, the former site of a gas station at Johnson and Henderson sat vacant. After many years of community vision and action, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Monday, May 13, 2024 to celebrate the site’s new life as a community corner! The site has been freshly paved, has picnic tables, planters, a mobile stage, etc. More improvements will be added over the coming weeks and months.

So, what exactly will be happening at 243 Henderson, a.k.a. Chalmers Community Corner? Various community partners in Elmwood will be taking turns hosting programs and events throughout the summer, beginning next week with Chalmers Pride hosted by Chalmers Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation. Stay tuned for lots of fun events like live music, markets, movies and more.
